Twitter in Focus: Bo Burnham

Hey Bros!

Welcome to Twitter in Focus where media comes to die.  Today’s contestant is comedian Bo Burnham.  He’s that funny guy with the piano.  Let’s see how he plays his tweets.

May 2nd:  “Five minutes until my new show Zach Stone airs on the east coast on MTV. SPREAD THE WORD! I will now shut the fuck up about it. ”

Ah, crap.  An MTV show I might actually have to watch.  I haven’t seen MTV since Elvis Costello made videos.

May 2nd:  “thank you, east coast, for all the kind words about the first episode of . hope you like the rest! ”

Hmm, if the east coast liked it.  I don’t know.  I’m waiting until central time checks in.  You can always count on central time for a good review.

May 3rd:  “WEST COAST! Only 10 minutes until the premiere of “Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous” on MTV. Yell it out the window! ”

Taking over the country a piece at a time.  Interesting strategy.

May 3rd:  “If you missed Zach Stone, you can watch it here: share it if you liked it! we need all the word of mouth we can get.”

If this is half as funny as Bo’s stand up, it’s going to be genius.  And I’m not just saying that because Bo looks like King Geoffrey from Game of Thrones.

May 3rd:  “New theme song every week! “: I’ve had the Zach Stone is gonna be famous theme song stuck in my head all day hahaha ””

That totally sounds like Bo’s stand up.

May 3rd:  “i was on CONAN and talked about the Biebs ”

Eh, he’s got millions of dollars.  I’m sure he’ll be fine.

May 3rd:  “Call me old-fashioned but I just want a girl who has a nice personality and a perfect face and flawless body.”

Face is always first more.  You gotta look at that more.

May 4th:  “I start touring my new show, “what.”, tomorrow! ”

Time to buy tickets bros.  You won’t regret it.

May 5th:  “Performing tonight in BOULDER! This week — IOWA CITY, MINNEAPOLIS, MILWAUKEE, CHICAGO, ROYAL OAK. tickets here: ”

What did I say?  Central time knows.

May 5th:  “Also FYI — the show I’m touring now is my first completely new show since “words, words, words.” Not completely new since my last tour.”

Man, how do you do a show and tour?  Busy, busy.

May 5th:  “If you saw me last year, you saw parts of this new show in it’s earlier stages. It is now full, finished, BIGGER, STRONGER, UNSTOPPABLE”

Give us a taste, Bo.

May 6th:  “Amazing crowd in Boulder tonight. I had a blast. Thank you to everyone that came out. ”

Yeah, Bo.  Don’t you realize there’s an entire angry, racist and insulting crowd that needs free content?  Youtubers, it’s really hard to pay rent on YouTube.  The man’s not Fred!  Give him a break!

May 6th:  “Just discovered a great new comedian names Louis C.K. Check him out. This guy’s got a lot of potential!”

Just saw Louis’ Arizona show.  It was funny, but actually kind of dark and depressing too.

23 hours ago:  “The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Three Fast and Three Furious, The Fourst and the Fourious, F5st and Fiveious, Cars 6.”

Oddly enough, all those movies were written with a script that had 140 characters or less.

5 hours ago:  “Who has one thumb and is performing in Iowa City tonight? ”

Ow, that hurt my eyes.

4 hours ago:  “New Ep of Thursday 10:30 on MTV. Zach conquers the music industry by becoming the first Ringtone Artist. ”

I can see you doing that.

Okay, let’s rate Bo’s tweets.  I give him a 7 for Insanity, a 9 for Mustness and a 10 for Style.  That’s an overall score of 8.6.  Good stuff.  Follow Bo.
