So my Saturday birthday party was held here with family and friends and for good reason; Fogo de Chão is pretty mind-blowing.
For those of you who haven’t been to one, a Brazilian steakhouse is an all-you-can-eat deal. Delicious meats are roasted over a spit with swords. The waiters are dressed like gauchos and run around with the swords offering slices to anyone that has a card flipped to “green”. Flip to red and they skip you. Each patron gets a little plate with a pair of tongs so you can grab the meat. Filet mignon, garlic steak, the house steak, bottom sirloin, Brazilian sausage, pineapple chicken, steak wrapped in bacon, chicken wrapped in bacon and chicken soaked in cognac were among the many meats in play. Each meat was more delicious than the next and I literally stuffed my face until I could eat no more.
But that’s not all you get.
Fogo de Chão also has side dishes including garlic mashed potatoes, cheesy bread, fried polenta and bananas. And even more amazing, they have an awesome salad bar. I’m not kidding, with all that who would need one, but it’s incredible. Fresh cheese, soups, salads, breads, mushroom soaked in brine, unique salad dressings, classic like Caesar salad— If you bring your vegetarian friend, they will have plenty to eat. PLENTY.
If you can’t find something delicious to eat here, you’re just not a food fan. The place is crazy-busy, but the staff is on point. I believe it’s just under $50 a head, but remember it’s all that and all-you-can-eat. You will, my friends. You will.
I give Fogo de Chão 10 out of 10 keggers.
