Hadn’t been to the Starview in ages and I hadn’t reviewed it, so I thought I’d go back. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
Back in the day, it was called Loupe’s and it was okay. The only thing I remember about it from the old days is that one time me and my friends were eating in there and there was a bomb scare. They cleared the place and we had a free meal.
Anyhow, nothing like that happened on this trip. We got seated in the bar area. I didn’t realize, but they have a sweet looking bar! I don’t drink, but if I did, I’d come here. It was all wood and glass, very polished.
The Missus and I were starving. I got a chicken Quesidilla appetizer. Appetizer was spelled wrong on the specials side of the menu, btw. The quesadilla was serviceable. Not particularly tasty. The salads were fresh. Simple. Just lettuce and tomato.
Entrees were chicken pot pie for the Missus. Good, hot and nice size. I got a sandwich called the Greek Pig. It was pulled pork, feta cheese and spinach. Not bad at all! Fresh roll and plenty of pulled pork. The fries were also freshly made and I had to save 1/4 of the sandwich and fries to eat later. The Missus’s meal was an inclusive special, which included desert, so she got chocolate pudding. Yum.
Not bad for $42 and change.
The Starview in Somerdale, NJ gets 7 out of 10 keggers. A solid diner in South Jersey.
