Twitter in Focus: Gerry Conway
on April 11, 2018 at 12:01 amHey Bros!
Welcome to Twitter in Focus where media comes to die. Today’s contestant is comic creator, Gerry Conway, who co-created the Punisher (amongst many others). Let’s see what he’s tweeting.
11 hours ago: “Which reminds me I hope in six months or so iTunes is offering a two-film bundle of “Shallow Hal” and “I Feel Pretty.””
I had to rush to the Imdb to see if he wrote either of those movies. Thankfully, he did not, but his credit list is sick, bro!
11 hours ago: “Heartbreaking.”
Jesus, that link is tough to read. Even just the headline.
10 hours ago: “Another great read from /Film in advance of Infinity War. My thought– maybe analyzing each Marvel film as a separate movie misses the point? ”
I liked Iron Man 3, although War Machine has always been a boring character to me.
9 hours ago: “I’ve felt for years “Foundation” makes better source material for a TV series than a film: “Apple Working on TV Show Adapted From Isaac Asimov’s ‘Foundation’ Novels – MacRumors“”
Yeah or mini series. Any kind of Netflix-type channel could do it.
9 hours ago: “Can I just say how much I’m enjoying “Good Girls”? There’s nothing particularly original in its Breaking Bad-style premise, but the performances by Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman and the spectacular Retta are wonderful. Plus it’s great to see Matthew Lillard doing his thing.”
I’ll have to check it out.
9 hours ago: “Bernie and Trump had basically the same message– politics as a system is hopelessly broken and Only I Can Fix It. Politics is messy, full of real world complications and compromises, a process for serious adults, not uncompromising idealists and ideologues.”
Wow, great insight. Twitter is usually so tiresome, especially people’s political opinions. Good for you, Gerry.
8 hours ago: “Great thread about changes in the art of comics over the last thirty years.”
Interesting.
8 hours ago: “Also soon to be available, a shopping list by J.R.R. for the Oxford Tesco, fully annotated, with original illustrations by J.R.R. and cover illustration by Alan Lee.”
Damn. He’s like the Tu Pac of writers.
6 hours ago: “But not surprising when you realize the two ranking members are 85 and grew up in an era when the peak development in communication technology was the rotary phone.”
Wait, you mean the Internet isn’t a series of tubes?
6 hours ago: “Not when you consider the average age of a Senator is 65.”
We need some young people in Congress. These old codgers want to go out in a blaze of glory!
6 hours ago: “Oh please please please”
So much on the CW I haven’t seen.
5 hours ago: “Inconvenient Facts, Part 3286…”
As my dad says, if we didn’t have pesticides, you wouldn’t eat the vegetables that survived.
Okay, let’s rate Gerry’s tweets. Man, he is on it! I give him a 10 for Mustness, a 10 for Style and an 8 for Insanity. That’s an overall score of 9.3. I’m going to round that up to 9.6 because Gerry is a guy you definitely need to follow, fanboys.
